My two boys and I are currently (perhaps permanently) back in California. Benjamin turned 8 in November and was baptized by his grandpa Peterson. He is in the 3rd grade and at the top of his class! Nathan is 5 and in Kindergarten. He loves it! They are the light and joy of my life.
I have been divorced for about 4 years now and am working as the Assistant Director of a public Preschool/Extended Daycare. I absolutely love my job, but I'd also love to go back to being a stay-home mom some day.
I'm currently serving as the RS substitute teacher. It's perfect for me. My poor bishop took 4 years to find me a calling that fit my personality as well as my busy schedule. I've learned so much about myself and the powerful principle of forgiveness these last couple of years. I love the gospel and am so very grateful to have it in my life. Heavenly Father truly loves his daughters and I've felt His loving arms around my heart more these last 4 years than ever before in my life.
I took the oportunity to spend this past Thanksgiving morning on Temple Square. It has changed SO much since I was there! But the one thing that was the same is the enveloping peace of the Spirit. I sat at the Christus and cried like a little child. I'm so glad I served on Temple Square! Sisters, we rock! :) |
