: : : : I served in the Bearverdam/Ashland area back in 1987. When
: : : : I served there, I lived with a member of the Beaverdam Branch.
: : : : His name was Brother Jon Deaner. Does any one know if
: : : : the missionaries are still living with brother Deaner in
: : : : this area, or for that matter if Brother Deaner is still
: : : : alive? He must have been in his mid sixtees back in 1987, and
: : : : at that time, he worked about 10 hour days running a skidder in
: : : : the lumber industry (i.e., his health was real good since he was
: : : : such a hard working man)
:
: : The Beaverdam Branch is now the Scotchtown Ward. I served there
: : Oct-Jan 1995. Brother Deaner was still alive then, but the
: : Missionaries were no longer living with him.
: Thats right!!! I almost forgot about the ground breaking ceremony I attended for the new church building to be built for the new ward? So what ever happened to the small church the Beaverdam Branch used to use?
We drove by the branch building a few times, and as far as I know, it was renovated into a house. But there were a lot of people, member and non-, that remember the old building.
Would you like some names/addresses to contact?
