In answer to your question about what you can expect, and what you will need in the Virginia Richmond Mission.
Here are a few of my suggestions on what you will need. I suggest you buy two pair of thermal underware for the winter months. (garment type works great). Get a good trench coat. Almost every missionary I knew brought some kind of rubber goloshes (spelling), but ended up not using them. (you make the call). Umbrella, scarf and good leather shoes (leather may not be your best option now days!)
The people in Virginia will welcome you into their homes, however, a lot of them are very set in either the Baptist or Methodist way of thinking. Remember, you are in Bible Belt when you are in Virginia. Working with the members to locate contacts will truly be your best method of making good contacts.
