I would wait till you get to the mission before buying a bike. Most missionaries bikes that are leaving are not in that great of condition. They might be cheaper but you get what you pay for. Most bikes that got stolen were not locked up. The missionaries just ran in for a second and they got stolen. So if you lock it up it should be fine and use some common sense.
