: I'm interested in knowing how Pres and Sister McPhie are doing. I would also like to mak
: contact with a sister Dees. She was my last companion. We served together
: for about a month in Roanoke.

I served in the VRM from 1975 to 1977. Sadly, Sister McPhie passed away about 3 years ago. About 2 years ago we had a little "Portsmouth Reunion" for just a handfull of VRM RM's who had taught a little group of investigator-now-members. They organized it for us and called it "The Fruit of Your Labors." We all brought our families and it was really neat because we got to show our kids the aftermath of doing the Lord's work ("how great was our joy..."). They also invited dear President McPhie who lives somewhere in the Salt Lake area. President McPhie told us that his wonderful wife of many years (and our mission mother) had passed away a little before our reunion. President McPhie was as sweet and pleasant as ever. You could tell he missed Sister McPhie a lot and we were happy to be with him and talk to him about the wonderful times we all had. He was happy to see us and his eyes still sparkled when he talked about our wonderful mission days in the Virginia Roanoke Mission. We even got him to talk in his Scottish accent. It was a good time. I haven't heard anything about President McPhie since then.
