The Branch has really grown over the past year. The missionaries there (there are 2 sets of 3)average about 100 investigators. Unfortuneatly the biggest reason there are so many is that word gets out that the Mormons will give you money and food from the StoreHouse in Chesterfield County. Every Sunday these good folk will line up at the Branch Presidents office for a handout. If they don't come to Church, they get nothing. I just found out today (01/31/98) that that practice will no longer be tolerated. The Saints will have to learn self-reliance (AMEN)! Over the past 2 weeks that this new policy has been in place, the missionaries have lost about haalf their investigators because they feel that the Mormons will no longer help them. Now they have to help themselves!! Now is the time to seperate the wheat from the tares. The investigators they have now REALLY want to know the truth and not just get a handout.
