Comments:
Kelly and I are still in Utah. Our intention had been to move out to the DC area when I graduated last summer but I have been so involved in various political campaigns, that it has been difficult to leave. Kelly and I have been married for 4 years. We do not have children... nor do we want children at this juncture... so moving back to Washington (once this round of elections is over) may still be a reality.

June 20th (2006) marked five years since being released. The following day, my little brother Paul received his call to the Washington DC North mission. My other brother was called to the same mission four years ago. Since coming home, I have thought about my mission nearly every day. For the last few weeks however, it has been on my mind constantly. I remember the wonderful people I taught. I remember the amazing ward members. I remember all of the wonderful elders and sisters I served with. I cannot believe how many miracles I witnessed and took for granted because of their frequency. I will never forget the priesthood blessings I pronounced, witnessed, and received. I cannot explain the strength I received from the Lord (despite various health issues) because I was on his errand. I thought I knew everything as I entered the mission field and those who knew me will recall my arrogance. I have since realized that I in fact know very little and as I grow and mature I continue to be amazed by how much I don’t know.

I was fortunate enough to attend the wedding of Ken Merritt last December. In addition to seeing many missionaries I had not seen in years, I was able to spend quite a bit of time with Jason Bassett and his sweet companion Alicia. The joy I receive from watching a young man I helped teach and then baptized get married in the temple and then go on to serve as the ward mission leader in his own ward in indescribable.

I would love to hear from any of you.
