I am ever-so-grateful that the missionaries of the Washington DC South mission never gave up on me! I managed to "go through" quite a few of them before I finally converted. I shudder to think what my life would be like without the gospel.
I have two fabulous children and an incredible husband.(Incredibly PATIENT, among many things.) I live a quiet life in the country, teach reading at my son's elementary school and serve as the sign language interpreter in my ward.
I'll never be able to thank "my" missionaries enough, really. But it sure would be neat to be able to send a note out to Elders Lloyd, Heaven, Call, Birkmeyer, Sisters Moon, Verhaaren and others who made such an enduring impact on the life of a deeply troubled adolescent way back in the early 1990s. I'm not sure if they truly understand how deeply they affected me at that precarious time of my life. I can hardly comprehend it,
myself!
But I owe them my gratitude, as do my husband and children. Thank you. |
