I visited Milwaukee Aug. 4, 2003. While there I met up with Narvel Gatlin whom Jim Hawkins and I taught. She seems to be doing great. Her son, Leslie, was baptized last year. He's a neat guy. There aren't too many old timers (i.e. early 1990's when the branch was initially formed) around anymore at the Milwaukee City Branch. I received a call from Leslie on March 18, 2004. Narvel passed away from liver and kidney failure on March 13.
In 1997 the church bought a building from the Baptist Church. It was the same building the church sold to the Baptists 10 years earlier. It's located near the intersection of Fondulac and Roosevelt at 4422 Leon Terrace. One thing that has happened to the branch is that it had formal boundaries drawn, incorporating Marquette University. This helps in providing additional leadership. Pres. Roger C.
