Comments: Deseret News Archives, Saturday, October 7, 1995Elder Pace, 55, was sustained as second counselor in the Presiding Bishopric April 6, 1985, and sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy Oct. 3, 1992. He is currently first counselor in the North America Northwest Area presidency. He was born March 21, 1940, in Provo, Utah. He received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in accounting from BYU. Before his call as a General Authority, he was a certified public accountant and was employed by a national accounting firm and was chief financial officer for a land development company. He also served as managing director of Church Welfare Services. Elder Pace is former president of the Australia Sydney North Mission, and is a former bishop's counselor, stake clerk and elders quorum president.
