A member since 1959 (although inactive for a period) Stake missionary, Sydney 1961-62. Then drafted. Served with Army through the Vietnam conflict and remained with service uintil 1987. Joined the Sydney Morning Herald just after and remained with the paper until 2001.
I am a journalist/broadcaster by profession and am now concentrating on writing.
My strong testimony stems from 1961 when I lost a dear friend in a motor accident. I had soken with her about the church and hy I believed in it. A few months later, i had a dream where Lesley appeared and calling me by my Army nickname said: "Tangles, the Mormon Church is true."
She did not know or spoke of the Church by its correct title, she was never baptised or sought fuirther instruction whilst she was alive. What she said reinforced my belief.
Although I do not attend church as much as I should - I believe it is the true church and nothing will change that. |
