Stories: The Lord Stopped the Rain to Help Us Get the Elders Home
Displaying 1 - 1 of 1 -- Add Story
While serving in Cremorne Junction, my companion Elder Vic Reese and I were asked to come into the mission home at Wollstonecraft and to billet 2 new missionary Elders for the night. Leaving the mission home in the dark, the rain was really pouring down. We made it halfway to the bus stop at St Leonard's Train station and had to take shelter from the pouring rain under an unoccupied private residential carport. My companion Elder Reese remarked that we were going to be there all night. I had been praying for the Lord's help to get the elders home and feeling a calm reassurance, I replied: "No we won't. It'll stop in a minute". Not more than a minute later, the rain almost but stopped, allowing us four Elders to make a dash for St Leonard's, where, once we were under shelter, the rain came down in bucketsful again. We were able to catch the next bus and to get the Elders safely back to our flat. I am grateful that the Lord answered a heartfelt prayer that dark and stormy night in the mission field. |

LDS QUOTE: |
"You are a great army of returned missionaries. Go forward with new zeal and determination, and through your example shine the light of the gospel in this troubled world. This is the Lord's work in which we are engaged. God lives. Jesus is the Christ. We belong to His Church. This is my witness to you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
