As of this writing (June 2008) I have two marriages, 10 children (five are step) eight of whom are married. By October, I will have 17 grandchildren. My husband and I recently returned from serving a temple mission in the Dominican Republic. We used our French with the Haitian and Guadalupe, Martinique, and French Guiana Saints. Coincidence that happened Easter Sunday 2007: In church in our Dominican ward was a French couple who live in French Guiana. As we became acquainted, I learned she was Monique Henon whom I taught with Sister Maughan in Dunkirk. Wow! In March 2008, we took a trip to France and saw the DeGrave family and Pierre Garnier in Lille. Pierre is unfortunately not active any more but was very gracious to us. Brother DeGrave suffers from Parkinson's disease. They are really the stalwarts of the Lille Ward. They had nine children. Many served missions. All eight of the married ones were married in the temple. Nothing looks familiar to me any more--even things that should. |
