Stories: Another faith promoting story

Well I enjoy the "spiritual" stories, but what we really remember are the fun and "stupid" stories or events that happened to us on our missions. So to add to my collection- another tell from the Elder Korver Archive.
It was a hot autumn day in a quaint town of San Ramon. Having served there 4 months already and seen some success and created a new strong realtionship with the members, where they trusted the missionaries again. As we all know, the YW usually have a special fondness for the "cute" guys wearing the black nametag. As Elder Chris Thompson and I walked across the Alberston's parking lot (we should have been on bikes but I had a broken hand due to a bike wreck the week before), we were hunted down and stopped by 2 of the YW in one of the wards. She said she saw us as she drove by and had to say "Hello". Now here is the punch line, not only did she stop to say hello, but she went into the bakery in the plaza, bought us a loaf of raisin bread, a half dozen bagels and two chocolate eclairs. Now was it really to just say Hello or get another peek at those "cute" guys in nametags?? Guess we will never know... |
