I hit the field December 31st 1985, and went immediately to Chula Vista where I was trained. I served in a LARGE number of areas--way more I believe than the average--especially my first year.
I absolutely LOVED my Mission--and I have a special place in my heart for San Diego as well. I have been back probably 7 times or so, and considered moving there for a time.
I am married with 7 (yes, SEVEN) children (4 boys, 3 girls) and I have been in radio for going on 20 years now. I announce--or what most people refer to as DJ work, and now I am an Operations Manager in Southern Idaho (Twin Falls). I have held numerous positions in Church, so no need to go into that. Suffice it to say my favorite callings have been working as a Ward Missionary/Mission Leader.
I met up with President Brown some years ago at Temple Square where he was the Director of satellite broadcasting--at least at that time he was. I haven't made it to any reunions, mostly because I haven't heard word about any--I have been out of the loop for far too long.
I have only met up with one former companion--Elder Brady, who I served with in Escondido...I discovered he also lives near Twin Falls with his family. I have spoken with Elder Literski, and Jolley just once in that time, otherwise I have been from all Missionary contact--something I swore I wouldn't do. I would LOVE to hear from ANY and ALL Missionaries I served with--even briefly. I welcome e-mails and would love to catch up. |
