Well, I decided that medical school was not for me, so I'm back at BYU in a media education master's program. It's infinitely better than med school, and I love being back in a film studies environment. I continue to have this decision reinforced as being the right one. Ultimately, my plan is to get a PhD in film history, theory, and criticism and teach at a university. I guess, I'll still be a doctor, just not a doctor "that helps people." Life is much more enjoyable now, and I'm excited to be back around friends and family.
