Keith Hale Hoopes, 73, president of the California San Jose Mission from 1990-1993, died on June 19, 2004 in Provo, Utah. He was a former bishop and stake president.

Keith Hale Hoopes, 59, Edgemont 11th Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont South Stake; gospel doctrine teacher, former stake president, bishop and counselor, executive secretary and seminary teacher; animal science professor at BYU; received bachelor's degree from Utah State University and master's degree from Washington State University; born in Fairview, Wyo., a son of Vernon and Izora Hale Hoopes; married Shirlene D. Griffeth; seven children. She is Relief Society president, former Primary president, Primary organist, Primary teacher, Young Women teacher, and Cub Scout leader; born in Preston, Idaho, a daughter of Melvin Pratt and Lois Daines Griffeth.
