Obituary for Mark Alan Jacobsen 24 Dec 2011
MARK ALAN JACOBSEN

Published: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1996 12:00 a.m. MDT

Heavenly Father must have had a great need for a very special spirit who is loving and kind when he beckoned and said, "Come Home, My Son" to Mark Alan Jacobsen. On Friday, August 23, 1996, Mark's death occurred as a result of an accident while he was working in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mark was born December 15, 1956 in Salt lake City, the son of Alan C. and Rosamae Greenwood Jacobsen. He married his sweetheart, Tauna Johnsen, on September 12, 1980 in the Salt Lake Temple, where they were united for all eternity. They have resided in Kearns and then in Las Vegas for the past eight years. Mark attended Ricks College, University of Utah, and Utah Technical College in Salt Lake City. Being a Journeyman Electrician, he worked for Young Electric, he worked for Young Electric Sign Company for 16 years. He was a dependable and dedicated employee that loved his work and was well liked by those with whom he worked.Mark served as Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America for 15 years. He was a stake missionary leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the time of his death.

Our husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend to all, was a gentle giant with a smile for everyone and a captivating grin on his handsome face. His world revolved around his family, church, and work, he loved all of them. Mark never spoke harsh words to anyone and he never spoke negatively about others. He was talented in a variety of ways and always desired to share this by being at the beck and call of anyone in need of help. His love for others showed in his constant service to them. Mark was polite and courteous and possessed a quiet pleasant mannerism admired by many.

Dear one, the days and nights will be lonely as we long for your presence, but we will be looking forward to spending eternity with you where we will all be together again. What a wonderful assuring promise we have to cling to! Thank you for good memories. We Love You!

Mark is survived by his wife, Tauna, four daughters, Angela, Sheila, Emily, and Noel, all of Las Vegas; father, Alan, brother, Howard (Hazel), grandmother Vauna, Aunt Dwan Jacobsen (Thomas) Young, all of Salt Lake City; his sister Shauna (Steven) Marx, of Las Vegas; father and mother-in-law, Ferris M. and Lorna N.
