In 2002, I returned to Santiago to visit the Zepeda family children who Elder Dalton and I taught in La Serena. Cecilia and Chicho (Reynaldo) are active in the church and each have now sent a missionary into the field. Chicho's son Alvaro served a mission in Argentina and Cecilia's son David has served in southern Chile. (Osorno, I believe.)
My wife, Kathy, and I serve as ordinance workers in the Boise temple (a mile from our house). That is a great opportunity.
After my brain aneurysm surgery two years ago, I was released as the HP group leader in our ward and Kathy and I now serve as the "empty nesters" coordinators. We have a monthly activity for the older adult members of our ward who no longer have children at home. That has been a lot of fun and I think it is especially beneficial for the widows who otherwise would have little social interaction with other ward members.
I am fully retired now and seem to have plenty to do with serving in the temple, maintaining our acre yard and going to our time share condo in McCall, ID for a week a month !!!! |
