So I'm standing in the priesthoood circle last night as my good friend Bob Evans is confirming his 2nd son, and my mind is wandering a bit. I am thinking- amazing, if you would have told me 20 years ago that I would be standing here beside my missionary companion, I don't think I would have believed it. We came from 2 very different places. Him-Malibu California, convert, only member in his family; me-rural northern Utah, pioneer stock. And yet somehow the mission brought us together, and we became companions and friends.
I haven't stopped thinking about the mission since last night. I was curious about the timing. So I pulled out my misisonary journal, and found that my suspicion was valid- Bob and I were companions 20 years ago to the day, Guacimo. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Apparently I haven't updated my profile for 6 years. So here's the cliff notes. After traveling around the county we moved back to Utah, southern Utah County. I have an amazing wife and 4 kids- 15, 10, 8, and 5. I work in a couple of the hosptials in Utah County. Life is great.
I taught a lesson in teachers quorum on Sunday about missions. I was talking to the boys about some of the blessings of being a missionary. Life-long and eternal friendships was at the top of my list. For those of you who I haven't talked to for some time, I would love the oppurtunity.
