Met my wife-to-be at a dance the day after Christmas (1980). Married Ilene Flinders a year and a half later. Bought the home next door to my parents in Centerville. Played in several bands while going to college at the University of Utah. Graduated with a Spanish degree with a minor in Math. Went on to do graduate work in education at the U. Did my student teaching in Spanish and Math at Bountiful High for one year. Got caught up in the computer industry and was part of the group that gave WordPerfect 1,000 employees (which resulted in a move to Utah County). After six years of waiting, we adopted a beautiful, baby girl (Camille, who brought us our granddaughter and grandson). Followed that with three equally wonderful daughters (Rilee, Dawniel, and Emily), the youngest just turned 17. Moved to Lehi when I started consulting (2000). Completed my Masters degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University in 2006 (didn't see John Stockton, but ate at Jack & Dan's quite a few times). Other Highlights: Hanging out with Kenny Loggins and his band; trips to New York, Hawaii (2), Nauvoo, the Oregon Coast, and Orlando; consulting in Guatemala and Chile, writing two fiction novels and having both published; watching Rilee play the Snow Queen in the school play (Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe); having Camille perform at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland; Daddy-Daughter-Disneyland dates with my daughters for their 16th birthdays; graduating from Disney Institute's Leadership Excellence program. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Special Projects at Utah Valley University. Just moved to Payson, UT (1 block East of the new temple). |
