My girlfriend waited through my mission, so we dated, and I went to the temple and prayed often, but still no confirmation of the spirit (about her or the church, which was extremely upsetting), so...
Off to Japan for 2 years. Taught English, and learned Japanese.
Married a wonderful Japanese woman, in a Shinto ceremony, at Nagasaki Japan, late 1992. We're back in the USA now, with a son and two daughters.
On January 22, 2000, I decided to resign my membership. I'm no longer LDS. No offense, I just don't believe it. I have my reasons, (just as you have for whatever you believe) but out of mutual respect, lets not get into it here.
Anyhow, my wife and I may visit Panama and Costa Rica again some day, to review that almost surreal moment in my history. It would be truly wonderful to see those fabulous lands and people again. |

LDS QUOTE: |
"You are a great army of returned missionaries. Go forward with new zeal and determination, and through your example shine the light of the gospel in this troubled world. This is the Lord's work in which we are engaged. God lives. Jesus is the Christ. We belong to His Church. This is my witness to you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
