Lamento avisarles que ha fallecido Pedro (Pedrito) Tavarez del barrio Mirador (antes pertenecia al barrio Cristo Rey I). Pedrito sirvio varias mini misiones despues de haberse bautizado, se sello en el templo a su linda esposa Vielka, y tuvo un hijo, Pedro Kamil. Su amor al proximo, su animo para la vida, y su sonrisa fueron siempre grandes recuerdos del verdadero amor del salvador. Paso de este mundo rodeado de sus seres queridos el sabado 6 noviembre, despues de una larga lucha contra el cancer. Habra un servicio en la capilla mirador el domingo 14 noviembre a las 5:30 de la tarde. |

Si alguien sabe de Eddie Gregorio Moreno Mueces, que era el muchacho que trabajaba en la oficina de la mision. El estuvo con los presidentes Coombs, Sterling, Sorensen y no se si con alguno otro. | Ok... SO I didn't actually serve in the Dominican Republic- But I need the help of those of you who did... My friend/companion is looking for the missionaries that baptized her parents back in Independencia in 8-8-88. Their names are Cesar and Damaris Alcantara. They remember a few names that we are searching for... ... Elders John Hunsaker, Elder Pederson/Pearson, and Elder Smiller? Recently Elder Nick Whatcott and his family were dealt a heavy blow as their son, Cole, who was only 6 days old, passed away. With such a tradegy as losing their little newborn Cole, not only are they left with a void in their family but with a large medical debt that insurance will not cover. His family has set up a fund at America First Credit Union in Cole's name and they are asking anyone who would like to donate to this fund to join them and show Nick and Janessa how much we love them by helping ease them of this debt and burden. Please send donations to P.O. Box 95795 South Jordan, UT 84095 or directly to any America First Credit Union. They have also set up an online Charitable account for anyone out of state or who would like to donate with a credit card at www.realitycharity.com/colewhatcott . Elder Whatcott was a great missionary and is an even greater man. I know times are tough for many of us, but every little bit helps. | Does anyone know of a way to get some current news from the mission? With all of the recent hurricanes hitting the Caribbean I am anxious to find a source for information on how things are down there from the perspective of someone who lives there, namely someone in the mission. I would love to get some sort of an update on how the missionaries and members are fairing from time to time, even if it was just a small statement. Especially during hurricane season as far as if the missionaries have been evacuated from their areas or if there were any disasters. Anyway, if someone know of a news outlet like this please let me know. I look at Listin Diario but I am always left wanting there. Thanks. (I would translate this but I am out of time, sorry, maybe later) | |
