Grant Gunnell, 76, Holmes Park Ward, Mesa Arizona Kimball East Stake; called as president of the new Accra Ghana Temple. President Gunnell's wife, Alice Petersen Gunnell, will serve as temple matron. President Gunnell is a former Ghana Accra Mission president, stake president and counselor, bishop and elders quorum president. He is a retired land owner and developer. He was born in Howell, Utah, to Charles Brown and Myrtle Rebecca Cutler Gunnell.
Sister Gunnell, who served with her husband while he was a mission president, is a former counselor to the president of Relief Society, Young Women and Primary. She was born in Ferron, Utah, to Wilford Christen and Lillian Foote Petersen.
