Today Elder Bruce C. Hafen, 1st Counselor in the Europe Central Area Presidency, presided over a Countrywide Conference in Budapest, Hungary. At the beginning of the Conference President Clement, Mission President of the Hungary, Budapest Mission, announced that the Győr, Hungary District had been dissolved. He went on to announce that as a result of the change, Sopron, Pápa, and Szombathely would become, as of today, part of the Mission District, while the Győr, Veszprém, and Székesfehervár Branches are now part of the Budapest, Hungary District. Including the eight Branches that were already part of the Budapest District (Buda, International, Pest, Kispest, Kecskemét, Dunaújváros, Érd, and Vác) there are now eleven Branches in the District. President Clement explained that this change had been approved by the Boundaries and Leadership Commitee on which set a few members of the Quorum of the Twelve.
President Hafen, spoke, amoung other things, of the importance of this realignment for the Church in Hungary and brings Hungary a step closer to becoming a Stake. He also talked about specifics about the areas that need focus in order to get us there.
