Comments: Returned to BYU following the mission and graduated in Middle Eastern Studies (1978). Married Jeni Broberg (1978) and moved to Irvine, California (1980) to begin graduate school at Hebrew Union College and completed a Ph.D in Ancient History from the University of California Irvine. I accepted a teaching position at BYU (1993) and moved to Woodland, Summit County, Utah, near Elder Stephen Smoot. Our family moved to Jerusalem to teach at the BYU Center for Near Eastern Studies (1997-1998) and returned to Utah and moved near BYU. I currently serve as the Religious Studies Center Publications Director (website: rsc.byu.edu for my weekly blog). We have five children (two married) and one grandson. Our oldest son Nate served a mission in Chile (1998-2000) and second son Zac served a mission in Costa Rica (2000-2002). My oldest daughter, Zanna, graduated from BYU this week (December 2008). Our youngest son, Bailey, is currently serving in the Switzerland Zurich mission and our youngest daughter, Marin, is currently serving in the Hungary Budapest mission.
We are leading a BYU study aboard program in Rome this coming year (July-August). Life is good! |
