I sure would like to see more of our companions and friends in here - Jesse Kelley, Gus Titus, Brian Williams, Darwin Swapp, Paul Kunz, etc.
I currently serve on the Stake High Council for the Springfield Illinois Stake. My parents served some years ago served in the Swiss Temple and, while there, established a friendship with Anna Gasparini Dal Pozzo (first baptism I witnessed in Italy, while at Modena) and her family (including Sister Gasparini). Mom and Dad hosted Anna and Giorgio to General Conference in October 2002, and made arrangements so that Brenda and I could also be there.
One of the missionaries serving in our ward in Illinois (just came to our ward two weeks ago) is the son of an Elder Bates who would have served under President Grinceri and President Watkins. We had the elders to dinner last night and, in the course of conversation, they asked if I had served a mission, and where - he remembers his father talking about a companion - Elder Call...... |
