Daniel arrived in Ivory Coast August 1, 2002. He was sent to Bouake two days after he arrived. His companion is/was Elder Ayekawei (?) who is a local missionary from Abidjan. Daniel was one of the last four to leave Bouake, he emailed us on 9/28 and indicated that he was fine and never felt to be in any danger. I would assume that his companion was one of those not allowed to leave. Daniel also admitted, that he was one of those missionaries that had heard gunfire in the distance. He said only that he had a great tale of adventure to share, and that it was all written down in his journal. He's safe and with the mission president, but I know nothing else. I do not worry for his safety, but, I will freely admit that my curiosity about the situation and what is happening and where he is, nearly consumes me at times.
