Gerrit Mark Steenblik, 53, Arcadia Ward, Scottsdale Arizona Camelback Stake; attorney; graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in accounting, and juris doctor degree from Brigham Young University; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Gerrit Hansen and Lois Ruth Nielsen Steenblik. Mr. Steenblik is a business lawyer with over 20 years of experience in structuring commercial transactions, especially those that involve real estate or negotiations with government officials. He is the past Chair of the firm's Real Estate Department and a State Bar Certified Specialist in Real Estate Law.

Mr. Steenblik represents U.S. and foreign-based developers, investors and financial institutions in sophisticated real estate transactions. His broad experience includes negotiating development agreements with municipalities, construction contracts, leases and ground leases, title insurance commitments, acquisition and construction financing agreements, brokerage and property management agreements, CC&Rs, reciprocal easement agreements and other documents related to the acquisition, development and subdividing of real estate, as well as related litigation. Mr. Steenblink also structures corporations, joint ventures, partnerships and limited liability companies to engage in real estate transactions.

A frequent speaker on real estate and business law, Mr. Steenblik has made the following presentations: Keys to Success in Real Estate Transactions; Commercial Leasing; Limited Liability Companies for Real Estate Professionals; Recent Developments in Real Estate Law; and Premises Liability for Violent Acts.

Currently, Mr. Steenblik chairs the firm's International Law Practice and has published "Doing Business in Mexico - An Executive Summary," and "Mexico Real Estate Law." He served as chair of "Interchange '96 - Where Sister Cities Meet for Business," a business conference which brought delegates to Phoenix from Canada, China, the Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands and Taiwan. He has made presentations on international business law at "Global Perspectives" conferences of the Phoenix World Trade Center. Mr. Steenblik has also presented, along with Gerald W. Alston, programs before various legal and business groups on "Keys to Success in Doing Business in Mexico."
