Comments:
I stumbled upon this website looking for some information about earthquake and tsunami damage to some of the cities and church buildings in the mission. After my mission I graduated from BYU where I met my wife Linda. Through Stefan Fromm and Michael Thompson I was able to go back to Yamagata and Sakata while in college and after college to teach English even though I had never served there while on my mission. After graduation I took my wife back to Sakata for about a year to teach English. We had our eldest son there. It was experience to say the least. We now have 5 sons ages 17 to 6. I'm in program/project management in the automotive industry. We supply automotive interior parts and assemblies to Toyota. We had been living in central KY (Lexington area) for about 13 years and recently moved to Northern KY 3 years ago when the Japanese side of the JV company I was working for merged in Japan and created another company.
As you can imagine with 5 sons, my church calling career has centered around cub scouts and boy scouts and I'm currently the Asst. Scout Master. Winter camping kinda reminds be of winters in Morioka. It's not like it once was but I still use my Japanese everyday. We live very close to Cincinnati and close to the airport. Drop a line if you are passing through.
