I'm passionate about helping Sendai RMs keep in touch with each other, with their inner Japanese roots as well as with the history and present day status of the mission. I have been lucky enough to go back to Japan over 20 times since my mission days for business trips, reunions and vacations with family and friends. Visiting Sendai mission areas and treating missionaries to lunch or dinner has been a highlight. I've put together a separate tonkatsu gochisou chronicles page that details those events.
RMs from yesteryear asking about their various favorite mission areas, how to travel in Japan, and my observations about what has changed led to me putting together many of the pages in the "Mission History, Map & Meetinghouses" and "Travel Tips" sections of this Site. Thanks to all you RMs who have contributed, particularly to the "senkyoushigo" pages of the Mission History Section, where lots of laughs can be had. Check out all the meetinghouse pictures there too.
Picture above: Tsunami volunteering in Sept 2011 ran into Kawajou Masayuki, whose mother is Tamashiro Natsuko, who served in Sendai Mission when I did almost 40 years ago. Both he and his brother are also Sendai RMs.
Note (2014): The mission.net framework broke and as stated on the Home page, updates haven't been made since then. Our new Teruya/Kwak jidai website was created as a result, at japansendai.org |
