When in Tsuchizaki along with Elder Harris we went and renovated the Tsuchizaki missionary quarters/church. The first baptism after the renovation was Tanaka Shimai. From the open house we converted Tomioka shimai (my Japanese Mom) and her friends. If anyone knows of her current family's address is I would like to know it. At Shiogama we were asked and received permission to be on NHK TV singing Japanese folk songs. We sang about Matsushima's Temple ... I was asked to sing on NHK Radio in Sendai for an American Program. I am a second cousin to Mission President Austin. President Austin's brother tracted in Sendai when the mission was known as the Far East Mission. The Sapporo/Sendai Mission President Horiuchi was in my ward when I left on my mission. Gordon B. Hinkley as a member of the twelve rededicated the mission about midway through my mission. Before we were lucky to get a baptism, after we were baptizing families.
