Comments:
Three years after returning from Japan I met and married Leslie Buchanan in our growing up stomping grounds of San Jose/Cupertino California. She also served a mission in Japan - in Okinawa.

Leslie and I have six children - 5 boys and a girl, ranging in age from 23 to 11 years old. Our daughter, Desiree just got married Aug. 1, 2009 to a returned missionary, Paul Freeman, in the Houston Texas Temple.

After returning from Japan, I completed an Electrical Engineering bachelor degree from BYU in 1988. After working at a hardware startup company (Icon) for a few years, I worked at Novell in Provo for 7 1/2 years, using my Japanese language skills for a few years on the Internationalization team. During that time, I got to go to Novell, K.K. in Tokyo and work for a couple weeks one time.

At Novell I switched my career focus from hardware to software engineering. After accepting a job at Compaq (now HP) we moved to Spring, Texas - a suburb of Houston. I'm currently a manager of system software development at HP.

My busy days are filled with growing a family, engineering work at HP, and church work as ward clerk.
