After my mission I went to Arizona State University and studied English Literature. During that time I married Tracy Hancock Tipton in the Arizona Temple. We had our first child, Emily Zoe, just before I graduated in 1989. I went back to Japan and taught English with my wife and daughter. We had pregnancy complications and came home after 2 years to have our second child, (Richard) Cole in 1992. I looked around for a job and found one at the juvenile state prison. Shortly thereafter, we had our third child, Truman Clay in 1996. Since then, I have transferred to the adult system and we added our last child, Quinn McKay in 2001. Tracy and I have been married 25 years on Valentines Day (so I wouldn't forget our anniversary). I'm still teaching and growing older and all that that entails. We are very active in the Church. We are currently in the Bella Via Ward in Mesa, Arizona. My daughter has since married in the AZ temple and, together with her husband, have produced a grandson, Winston. My oldest boy is on a mission in Fukuoka, Japan. Finally, someone I can speak nihongo with. Anyway, it is good to see all of the familiar names. |
