Subject: Launch of Mormon.jp Website
Please read the following announcement in your Sacrament Meeting on Sunday December 20, 2009:
We announce the opening of a new Japanese website: www.mormon.jp. This is patterned after mormon.org in the United States and features video testimonies from new members in Japan. The site has two purposes: (1) to create a place where people can come to learn more about our beliefs; and (2) to create digital pass-along cards (videos, talks, etc.) that members can share with their friends via email and blogs.
As part of the Christmas season, the site features a Christmas pass-along card at www.Mormon.jp/Christmas. This creates an uplifting, non-threatening way for members to easily share the true meaning of Christmas. The site also features a section about Jesus Christ, his life and his mission.
We believe the Mormon.jp website will become a great missionary tool and encourage its use by all. The current Web site, www.ldschurch.jp will continue to focus on member needs and interests, similar to www.lds.org in the United States.
