Tokyo South Mission to be (re)created 25 Feb 2013
22 Feb 2013: In a news release, Church Headquarters announced that due to the lowered age requirements that have created a large influx of new missionaries, existing missions will be divided and 58 new missions will be created, including the (new) Tokyo South Mission.

Takashi Wada, who currently serves as the Asia North Area Director of Temporal Affairs, has been called to serve as the mission president in the newly formed Tokyo South Mission. The current Tokyo Mission is likely to be the only mission in Japan affected by this split; from 1978 until 2007 there were two Tokyo Missions, North and South. In 2007, they were consolidated. As we received more defined information as to boundary changes, the maps below will be updated.
