2004 - 30-year Reunion
Salt Lake City

Teruya Jidai (1974-1977) 30-Year Salt Lake Reunion Report

Teruya Jidai (1974-1977) 30-Year Salt Lake Reunion Report

Thanks to all 126 people who traveled from far and wide to attend the get-together held October 1, 2004--we commemorated the founding of the mission 30 years prior. Those who made it to the reunion had an unforgettable time reconnecting; once a group like ours is gathered together, the event can't help but be a great success! There is something that clicks with those of us who were lead with love by President and Sister Teruya! 76 of about 325 RMs (250 Americans and Canadians, 75 Japanese) who served in the Teruya Jidai came. For many it was the first reunion they had attended! Former mission presidency counselor Amano Kyodai also came from Japan.

Teruya Jidai RMs who live in Japan also held a 30-year reunion, which was held November 13, 2006 in Tokyo--see the separate reunion report that includes some pictures.

Gokurosama to all who traveled long distances and contributed in any way! Particular thanks go to Setsuko and John Ericson and Reid and Shauna Tateoka for the building and setup arrangements. Everyone who viewed Jim Phillips' natsukashii slides and Todd Ogaard's video clips of the 1987 Teruya reunion talks and Michinoku slide show took an emotional ride down memory lane. Marianne Ogaard was camerawoman for those who wanted to be included in a video that was sent to the Teruyas and shown at the Teruya Jidai reunion held in Tokyo on November 13, 2004. Clark Shurtz and Todd Ogaard were responsible for mailings, and Todd was the webmaster. And finally, thanks to all who brought the delicious food! Domo domo.
