Comments: Boy how time flies.
So I didn't have many areas and thus, didn't get to know very many missionaries; unless they served in my district or zone.
I've never been able to find my trainer; Elder John Payne, from Provo, Ut. We were together for 5 months. I'd love to be able to visit with him, and let him know how much I appreciated his patience with me.
After returning home to Mesa, Arizona, in May 1978, I went to school at A.S.U and received a BS in Business Admin. and worked for a real estate developer as their marketing director.
In June 1982, I married Trudy Klepinger, also from Mesa. However, she is quick to point out that I am 5 years older than she, and always will be:)
In 1989, age the age of 30; with a wife and two children, I decided to return to school and attended the Southern California College of Optometry, in Fullerton, California. I graduated in 1993, and we moved back to Mesa.
In 1996, I bought my own practice and have expanded it twice.
We have 4 wonderful children: Ages 23, 21, 16 and 13. Our oldest son is married living in Provo and attending BYU. Our oldest daughter got married in May, 2010 and lives in Orem, while her husband attends BYU.
I have been blessed to have served in many callings in the church; primary, cub scouts, nursery, sunday school, scout master, varsity scout coach, explore advisor, bishopric, executive secretary, elders quorum presidency, high priest group leader, stake and ward missionary, ward missionary leader, and high council. I am currently serving as the Teacher's Quorum Advisor. We have 20 boys in our quorum.
I am always humbled by each calling. And I enjoy the spiritual growth that comes from each and every calling.
I would love to reconnect with some of my "old" companions and missionaries that served in Tong Nae, Pohang and Chicago. And our LTM group. |
