Presidents: President Losee (1980 - 1983) | Served: 1978 - 1980 | Areas Served: Honolulu, Guam, Saipan | Companions: Darrell Chun | Your Occupation: Purchasing Manager | Spouse: Ann | Comments: I am so happy that I just discovered this website! My mission in Hawaii/ Guam Micronesia continues to to hold such a huge place in my heart. I was serving in the mission office (still part of the Hawaii mission) when we got the call the that the Guam-Micronesia mission had been created. At first we thought it was a joke because the news came on April 1st (April Fools day). But soon received a faxed letter, signed by Pres. Kimball, stating that we were officially a mission. I am so blessed to have served in Guam & Saipan. In addition to serving the Lord and the the people of these islands, the missionary work was truly an adventure. I still love to recall the hundreds of experiences I had with my great companions. I would love to get in contact with some of my old companions and district companions. I served with Elders Skitch Miyahana, Sheldon Hoyt, Steve Nelson, Spencer, Fifita, De La Cruz, Thomas Bowthorpe, Darrell Chun, Elov Simmons and many more.
I am currently serving on the stake High Council in Pleasant Grove Utah. I have been married for 24 years and have 5 children. Some of my favorite callings include those where I served as 2nd counselor in the bishopric, and young mens advisor. I often look for opportunities to relate to the young men how great my mission was and how exciting their's can be.
Just recently (4/4/08), my wife & I vacationed in Oahu and took some time to visit where my mission started in Waikiki. The old missionary apartments next to the tabernacle are gone and replaced with a nice office building (owned by the church?). Spent most of our time on the north shore. Will most likely be back next year + Maui.
Lately, I have been kicking around the idea of going back to visit Guam & Saipan for a couple of weeks- maybe next year (2009) |
