The Streets had Six Inches of Water in Them 28 Jun 2002
"It finally rained. It is much needed. This is supposed to be the wet season (June), and it hasn’t rained but once this summer (2002). It's been so bad that I even learned the word for drought. When it finally did rain, it poured. Most of the streets had about six inches of water or more in them, so all the taxies stopped running. My companion, Elder Sommerfelt and I were teaching a community English course at the chapel. We had to walk home. By the time we got back to our apartment we were both thoroughly soaked. At least the weather was warm. It could have been worse. The other elders here in Darkhan were caught on the other side of town, and they actually had to wade through deep water to get back to their house, so I feel fortunate." -Elder Isaac Solmes
