Sharon (that’s Sister Yates to some of you) and I have had 24 years of marital fun. She started out as my best friend and she still is. Well, Mike Moniz is my best friend too. I mean, he married my sister. That’s a pretty strong commitment to friendship, you have to admit. But then there’s Steve Coy. he’s my best friend. Mike and Steve and I were inseparable in the MTC. And he was always there for me in the mission field. Like that time my companion drove off at 6:30am and left me alone. He was there. And that reminds me; Raymond Pate has to be one of my best friends! OK, none of these guys is as good to me as Sharon. SHE is definitely my best friend. Still. That’s right, honey.
So, lots of life, three kids (Kara, Christian, and Paige), a few moves to Oregon, Utah, Texas, and home to California, and many callings later, we sit in the wonderful Woodward Park Ward of the Fresno California Stake in Gospel bliss. Our time in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission has defined our lives. The stories we tell the missionaries are all about you, because without you, the Gospel would not have its deep and indelible mark upon our souls.
Christian comes home from the Peru Lima South Mission on 13 June 2007. Remember that day! We work with the missionaries every week and count the days until we are blessed with the opportunity to serve our second mission. The Church is true. God lives. You are in our prayers. |
