The more and more people we meet, the more I know what I want for the future and how greatful I am for the ways in which I've been brought up etc... I love being a missionary, it's helped me grow in so many ways - I know that the only thing that will heal individuals,families and the world .. is the gospel of Jesus Christ & I'm so anxious for others to find the happines that comes from living the way our Saviour did & would have us live. One of the young men that we are teacing at the moment just got kicked out of home because he is meeting with us - he knows that the things he is learning and praying about is true, he feels it & has a great desire to learn more. He told us last night that at first when he found the note from the family he was living with telling him to move out he started freaking out..(They are baptist and hated him having the book of mormon in the house etc)but then he decided to read the chapter that we left with him to read and pray about it and his situation.. he said he immediately felt peace as he read from the Book of Mormon & after he prayed, he knew that his Father in Heaven would take care of him, he felt calm. The next morning his girlfriends(girlfriend is LDS)brother called him up & asked him to move in with them. Iknow in my own experiences, that when I've felt frustrated or alone I have been able to open up the book of mormon .. anywhere.. & just feel the love of my Father in Heaven, that He cares about me & that most of the things that I am frustrated about won't matter in a day or two. I love being part of this great work, I know that Jesus Christ is my personal savior and a mission has helped me to understand more deeply His Atonement and how personal it is. |
