Comments:
I, George Awa, also served with Elder Roper 1954-1957. My wife, Vicki, and I served a two year mission in Nigeria, 2000-2002. Then returned to Hawaii for our official release. Then, we left for Madeira Island, Portugal and lived there for one year doing geneology research for my wife's deceased Dad's family.
Thank you. -- George/Vicki...Tucson(and back in Hawaii)
Feb.2009- My wife and I have been called to serve in the Kona Temple, Hawaii as Temple Ordinance Workers. We are in the Kona First Ward. This is the Big Island of Hawaii. It is good to be back working in the Temple again after our two years mission in Nigeria and researching my wife's Dad's side of geneology/family history in Madeira Island, Portugal. We lived on Madeira Island for a year. The Hawaii Temple on the Island of Oahu will be closed for 18 months. Big plans for the Hawaii Temple. There are 13 Stakes on the Island of Oahu. The islands will work out a schedule to attend the Kona Temple. It is a small Temple. It will be a miracle. Just think: LIFE IS A MISSION AND NOT A CARERR. We appreciate your emails. Thank you again.

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
