Comments:
I married K. Joanne Bailey, on Dec 17, 1964 in the S LC Temple. We were both working in the Church Finance Dept when we met. We love each other deeply and permanently. For the past several years, Joanne has worked as a legal secretary in Menlo Park, CA. We have 6 children, 3 of each kind. All of the children are married. We have 14 g’children, 7 boys and 7 girls. We have two great grandchildren, one of each kind.

Until May of 2002, I worked for a Japanese construction company called S.M.W. SEIKO, INC., as Manager of Admin (Somubucho). We lived in Foster City, CA.

We served our first mission in Atlanta. I served as Area Welfare Manager for the East and Southeast Areas of the Church. This included the Caribbean Area also.

Our second mission was in Japan where we helped get the first website for the Church up and running.

17 April 2012 update, We are now home from our second mission to Japan where we worked on the website, did member missionary work, and where Joanne was secretary to three brethren at the Church Offices there.

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
