Dear Wayne: I was companion to James Lee Harbican for a period of time in Abeno, if my memory serves me right. I probably have a little more information in my journal, but it is packed in a box in my garage still from the last move. I can remember that he had a difficult time. His folks always sent more money than he ever needed but never any letters. It was a big problem for him. He spent money on very expensive camera equipment and loved to take photos. He was very kind and really wanted to be a good missionary but didn't learn the language very well.
Rex Griffiths, CPA
James Lee Harbican was my Jr. companion from Jan 20, 1960 to June 24. 1960. We were together in Sapporo and in Otaru. I am saddened to hear that he is deceased. I have looked in my journal and can't find where he was from. Andrus was M P. ..Terry Berger
Elder James Harbican did exist. He served in Sapporo when I did in 1960.
He was from Sepulveda, California.
