Sylvia Lei Meyers Tuinei, 62, of Utah and formerly of Hilo, a high school teacher, died in Orem, Utah March 22, 2005. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by sons Tom, David, Joseph, Benjamin and Spencer; daughters Mitzi Semo, Ipo Hemaloto, Lisa M. Wade, Sandra L. Ho Ching, Camilla Tuifuga and Mary J.; sisters Valerie Sewell and Helene Baysa; and 28 grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hilo Stake Center, 1373 Kilauea Ave. Call after 9 a.m. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery Mormon Section in Hilo. Aloha attire.
To the Family of Sylvia Lei Meyers Tuinei,
I wish to convey my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother, gr/mother, & friend. Your mother & I served together in the Tokyo North Branch. I was her first companion. She was truly a great missionary & truly served Heavenly Father well. I loved her very much. May our Heavenly Father continue to bless you all.
