Elder Summers, (2014) I don't know if this picture can be used by you in some manner for advertising our next reunion, but you're welcome to use it. It's of a group of us who departed together for Tokyo on March 19, 1963. From left to right, John Ramussen, Terry Nagata, Pat Burkholder Bersie, Mel Marker, and Kent Petersen. Missing are Earl Seeley, Armel Beardall, and Richard Chapman. Sister Bersie
I (Elder Earl J. Seeley) did get your email. I am sorry to hear that Elder Chapman passed away, hopefully all the rest are well and healthy. Carole and I finished an extended mission to the Navajo, Hopi, and Apache reservations in Arizona last fall and are at home in Fairview Utah. Our mission began with the Benson Institute and involved a provident living/home food production initiative among the Native Americans. The last 3 years was with LDS Charities (Humanitarian Services). Our work spanned a 4 year period where we, with the help of many (total 26 senior couples) great church service missionary couples helped approximately 1280 families begin using drip irrigation and sustainable soil management procedures to grow gardens, produce and store a significant portion of their food. Also the other areas of provident living were emphasized, including mental health, addiction recovery etc.

Prior to our most recent mission, I spent about 22 years serving a part time mission with Welfare Services and Farm Management, which, when coupled with family and church responsibilities left very little time for anything else. We are now empty nesters'. It (our missions) were a tremendous experience, and we plan on serving future missions as our health, finances and the Lords blessings allow. We will make every effort to get to the gathering this year (April). EJS

My current address is 2202 Skyline Mtn. Fairview, UT 84629: ph. 801-372-0097

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
