Comments:
I am a physician living in Mountain Home, Idaho.. My wife Jane Fillerup and I have been married 48 years this August. We have 10 children, 3 daughters and 7 sons. All seven are Eagle Scouts. Five of our children have served full time missions, . My wife and I are committed to another mission in a few months. Elder John Welch - 1954-1957 and Jane Fillerup Welch will be serving a two year mission in the Asia Area. We will be serving in an area which covers many missions instead of one mission. We will enter the mission home in Provo 2-27-06 for 1 week then to SLC for medical instruction then on to Hong Kong where we will have an apart.
Jane says: I have been married to my sweetheart for 48 years and we have 10 children. I would encourage every married couple to prepare to go on a mission. I can promise you that no matter what obsticles are in your way if you have the desire the Lord will open the way for you to serve. Since receiving our mission call from the Prophet we have been the recepients of the most wonderful spirit that was never present before.

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
