Yesterday I just had this HUGE desire to go back to Region 8, so now here I am updating my profile.
Leah and I have been married for over 3 years now, and we're finally going to have a baby! She's due in June.
I have been teaching high school English for almost two years now and am loving it. I constantly talk with my classes about my mission, and although they don't ask "gospel" questions, I think they have a better understanding of what LDS missionaries do and how difficult yet rewarding LDS missions truly are.
You know, as I write this and I think back on the blessing that it was to serve in PTM and meet and teach all those amazing people, I get kind of depressed. I remember people telling me that a mission would go by and be over before I knew what had happened, and they were right. As I was serving, there were times when I wanted it to end and be done with, but now as I think back, I wish I was still a 19 year old kid living the next two years of my life in a poor little country, eating fish and rice for every meal, and struggling to learn another language because of how much I love the people! |
