Stories: First day lessons

This is a good one, a little embarrasing, but fun none-the-less. It was my first day of proselyting in the field and my trainer (Elder Issel Leon) and I were walking through the streets of Alang-Alang, in a particular section we called "The Gauntlet", as it was a rough area to work in. Elder Leon started to contact some people, and I was feeling useless, as I spoke no waray-waray yet, so I thought i could be useful by distracting the kids, and let Elder Leon do some quality contacting. After amusing the kids with some magic tricks, there became quite a crowd gathering around, and they were getting bored with my magic, so I turned to my only other form of entertainment, my pop-up umbrella from Walmart. I thought it was fun scaring the kids when i pushed the button and the umbrella shot out. The kids thought differently, they started chanting something to me, but of course, i didn't understand, it was my first day. I thought they were loving it, so I continued to try and amuse them. Then all of a sudden Elder Leon came over and started telling the kids to be quiet, I didn't understand, until he told me what they wer chanting. They were chanting "BAYOOT, BAYOOT, BAYOOT!". I din't know that carrying an umbrella in broad daylight was a symbol of the "bayoot". I learned my lesson, never trust a crowd of waray-waray kids chanting loudly.
